As he grows, a baby develops both physically and cognitively (thinking skills)—each area supports and encourages the other. Once he accomplishes one challenge, he sets a higher goal to tackle. Moving from learning to crawl to learning to walk is one example. As a parent, you can challenge your child by posing problems for your baby to solve. Toss a toy across the child's space so that the learning-to-crawl baby gets to exercise and develop his abilities.
