Rhythm and rhyme
Rhythm and rhyme can be the glue that holds things together. For example, the ABCs are simply a bunch of letters in arbitrary order. But the Alphabet Song helps children to remember the letters and the order in which they occur. Your child enjoys hearing rhyming stories over and over because they are easy to remember and predict. When you come to the rhyming line in a well-known rhyming book together, let your child finish the line.
