Offer your child opportunities to practice writing and spelling by having him help you make grocery lists, greeting cards or labels. You can also play "restaurant" and have him take your pretend order for dinner. Be encouraging of your child's work and spelling attempts. Help him look up correct spellings in the dictionary or online.
