Challenge your tot

The best way to help your child reach his full potential is to provide plenty of opportunities to use creative problem-solving skills. Allow your child to experiment in safe, age-appropriate situations. Unless your child shows signs of frustration, allow him to struggle with problems.

If he is having trouble with a puzzle or figuring out how to open a box, just sit back and observe. If he does start to get frustrated, ask questions instead of rushing in to provide the solution, "Are there any more buttons you could press? What happens if you turn the puzzle piece?" This sort of experimentation is an important piece of your child's intellectual development.
