My daughter asked why a woman hasn't been president. Any tips?

There is a great book called Grace for President, by Kelly S. DiPucchio that addresses this very question. The story is about a little girl named Grace who wants to know “Where are the girls?” when she is shown pictures of the presidents by her teacher. After learning that the United States has never had a female president, Grace decides she is going to be the first. Not only does this book inspire young girls, it teaches children about the electoral system. You can use the book as a springboard to talk to your daughter about women currently in government.
