Learning Stages

Have fun making familiar letters out of play dough with your child. Then help your child to make some of the letters in his or her name.

For children who are pretty familiar with thier letters, you can play this fun game:

  1. Make a few letters together.
  2. Have children close their eyes and direct their hands to one of the letters.
  3. Ask children to try to guess the letter by feel.

This helps children internalize the shape of each letter, which can help them become better at recognizing letters and then writing them.
